The historic whale ship Charles W. Morgan departs the seaport of Mystic, CT, setting sail for the first time in over 70 years. Built in 1841, this is the Morgan's 38th voyage. Crowds came from all around to view the spectacle as a parade of sailing vessels and smaller craft escorted the Morgan out of the Mystic River on Saturday the 17th of May, 2014. This was a really fun event to attend and photograph! Note that we aren't selling anything from this gallery...this was a public parade, and the pictures are free!
